European Weeks 2026: the festival programme is set
The long-standing European Weeks Passau festival once again brings concerts, theatre and exhibitions to the City of Three Rivers and its surroundings from mid-June to late July.
The European Weeks Passau, one of Bavaria's oldest cultural festivals, have unveiled their 2026 programme. From mid-June to late July, around 70 events turn the region between the Danube, Inn and Ilz into a cross-border stage. Performances take place at atmospheric venues such as the Prince-Bishop's Opera House, the Veste Oberhaus fortress, St Stephen's Cathedral and in monasteries and churches across the Bavarian Forest. This year's thematic focus is devoted to the music of the Danube region, from its source to the Black Sea. Alongside classical concerts, the programme features jazz, dance, drama and visual art. The festival has always seen itself as a cultural bridge to neighbouring Austria and the Czech Republic. Tickets for the most popular evenings are available in advance.
